Head of Louis XIII, laureate, right., Cross formed by four groups of 2 Ls leaning against each other and crowned, cantoned by 4 lis diverging from the centre., Variety known as "à la grosse tête" with the legend "LVDO", considered to be a pattern strike by A. Clairand (Clairand 2023), this coin is totally exceptional! Extremely rare because of its variety, this example is also very well preserved, with very few traces of circulation having affected the designs, all of which are still superb. Most probably worn in the past to display the portrait of Louis XIII, a small trace of soldering is visible on the reverse at 6h.
