Queen Victoria's Diamong Jubilee 1837-1897.

Australian issue.
Obverse: Mature Queen's bust to the left.
Legend: VICTORIA ACCESSION 1897.
Reverse: Australian Arms in center with rising sun above and the date below, all placed within a centre diamond.
Reads: DIAMOND JUBILEE AUSTRALIAN CELEBRATIONS 1897.
Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee was celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the British Empire including in Australia. Many commemorative medals were produced both here and across the British Empire. This medal lacks the imperial crown featured above the coat of arms on many other Australian produced medals commemorating the diamond jubilee.
Holed at the top with suspension loop.
Scarce single bust variety, Gilt bronze.
Gilt almost compeletly intact, some surface dirt.
