follis 317-326 AD Unique and unlisted! IOVI CONSERVATORI of Crispus w/SKM mintmark, Cyzicus mint, Roman Empire

DN FL IVL CRISPVS NOB CAES, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Crispus facing right / IOVI CONSERVATORI, Jupiter standing left, holding Victory on glove, eagle standing in the left field, bound captive seated to his right, X/IIG in the right field, SKM in exergue. Cyzicus  mint. 20mm, 2.45 grams. RIC -.

Coins with this early mintmark are not known in combination with this reverse type. The early IOVI CONSERVATORI pieces with this mintmark (but with a different bust and reverse) were issued in 317-320 AD, but once the new value (12.5 denarii) was placed on the reverse in 321 AD, the mintmark was changed to the more normal SMKA. The coin offered for sale is probably from a late 320 AD - early 321 AD 1st (or trial) issue of these folli, minted before the mintmark was changed. These coins seem to be unpublished in the standard references.
