Sogd legend: xwt´w w´xswt´wy pny ("Coin of King Wahshutawa") // Turgesh tamga, Turkic runic letter "R" and Chinese 元 - yuan. 21mm, 2.36 grams. A. Kamyshev's "Early Medieval Monetary Complex of Semirechie" #21; Smirnova #1585; cf. Zeno #14.

Wahshutawa was probably the first (or one of the first) rulers of the Turgesh Confederation, as the later coins follow his design. His coins are very rare. This coin is uncleaned, but shows the full legend and the reverse design.
