ROMAN EMPIRE AV gold solidus circa 337-340 A.D. Constantius II, Heraclea mint - very rare issue, Ex Euclidean Collection - near EF, light toning, graffiti mark obverse

Obverse: D N CONSTANTIVS AVG, laurel- and rosette-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right

Reverse: VICTORIA CONSTANTI AVG, Victory seated right on cuirass and shield, supporting with genius standing left a shield inscribed VOT XV in two lines; MHR in exergue

An already rare type, this particular coin features a mintmark MHR (= Moneta Heraclea) which is seemingly not published (?) for this type. A similar cointype was sold via The New York Sale, 16th January 2003, Auction 5, lot 396 which had the mintmark SMHR (= Sacra Moneta Heraclea). So it seems that this is a variety of the same cointype.
