Julia Maesa; Eastern Mint, ca. 218-9 AD, Denarius, 2.86g. BMC-295, C-20var, RIC-256. Obv: IVLIA MAESA AVG, Draped bust r. wearing stephane. Rx: IV-NO. standing l. holding patera and scepter; peacock at feet. Rare, particularly with stephane on obverse: all or most of the six specimens of this Eastern denarius in the Reka Devnia hoard were probably without stephane, a commoner variant mistakenly omitted by Cohen 20-21.
