This commemorative medal honors the legacy of two Dutch queens, Emma and Wilhelmina. The obverse features a profile of Queen Emma with the inscription "KONINGIN REGENTES EMMA," recognizing her role as regent for her young daughter Wilhelmina from 1890 to 1898. The reverse depicts a young Queen Wilhelmina, with the inscription "KONINGIN WILHELMINA," marking her ascent to the throne at just eight years old.

Obverse: Portrait of Queen Emma in profile, with the inscription "KONINGIN REGENTES EMMA". Emma served as regent for her daughter, Queen Wilhelmina, from 1890 to 1898.

Reverse: Portrait of Queen Wilhelmina as a young woman, with the inscription "KONINGIN WILHELMINA". Wilhelmina became Queen of the Netherlands at the age of eight following the abdication of her mother Emma.
