Obverse:
Left-facing bust of young Queen Wilhelmina with long flowing hair and lace collar. Legend: "WILHELMINA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN". Signed below the truncation: "B. VAN HOVE".
Reverse:
Crowned oval inscription space engraved "24–25 Juni / 1892", surrounded by laurel branches, lions, and ornamental banners. Artist’s monogram "W.S." at the bottom.
Historical Context:
Issued for festive events and prize distributions in 1892, this medal commemorates national celebrations held in honour of Queen Wilhelmina’s early reign during her regency. Although she had become queen in 1890, her mother Emma ruled as regent until Wilhelmina’s majority in 1898. The piece reflects patriotic and civic enthusiasm surrounding the young monarch.
