Historical Context:
This honorary medal was awarded during the 1927 international equestrian competition held in Genval-les-Eaux, Belgium. The presence of the royal couple’s portraits suggests royal patronage, a common practice at prestigious interwar sporting events. Designed by Belgian medallist Jules Fisch (1875–1956), renowned for his official portrait medals.
