Historical context:
This badge was issued to participants of the International Congress of Catholic Physicians held in The Hague in September 1956. Organised during the postwar revival of international Catholic cooperation, the event gathered doctors from around the world to discuss ethical, medical, and moral topics. The design combines Christian and medical symbolism and was manufactured by Koninklijke Begeer, the leading Dutch medal producer.
