The third coin in the Contemporary Urban Art series is dedicated to Bordalo II. Artur Bordalo (Lisbon, 1987), grandson of the painter Real Bordalo, studied at Belas-Artes, in Lisbon, but did not finish his degree, enthused by the multidisciplinary approach to art and his large-format creations made with material wasted by others. Today he is at the same time a sculptor, painter, welder and graffiti artist, and he no longer works in the shadows, on the contrary.
A crescent made of recycled polymer can be seen on both sides of the silver coin, which represented a new technical challenge for the Mint, which partnered with PIEP – Polymer Engineering Innovation Pole. Like all of Bordalo II's works, this coin will also be innovative and immediately recognizable as his.
The coin is delivered in a capsule, with a certificate, case and outer cardboard card.
