This catalog, created by Bautista Martínez, documents over 1110 types of coins minted in Castile and León throughout the 11th to 15th centuries. Each coin type includes many variants, with explanatory graphics alongside each photo for easy understanding of the type.
One of the main features of the catalog is the updated market prices of the pieces (2017) and its convenience for frequent reference.
The nomenclature of the pieces follows the order established by Heiss and Álvarez Burgos in their publications.
Update to the Medieval Castilian-Leonese Coin Catalog, 11th to 14th Centuries
It includes the new types and variants of coins that appeared after the catalog's publication in May 2017.
This supplement updates the catalog to offer a comprehensive listing of coins minted in the kingdoms of Castile and León from 1073 to 1468. The new types and coin variants in this update complete the issues of the reigns.
Introduction to the book by the author:
In this catalog, the aim is to collect all the coins, types, and variants that have appeared in auction houses and private collections over the years. Each coin type is represented with its corresponding drawing. As expected, it was not possible to obtain a photograph of all the coins, so an attempt was made to provide a representative and accurate drawing of each type. On many occasions, the photographs have been retouched, concealing imperfections and highlighting the unique features of each piece.
Note that the prices are indicative, always aligned with a very good state of preservation, although the photographed coin may not match this desired condition. Some modern forgeries are known in this field, which have been avoided and therefore are not described in this catalog.
