The Liard is a small copper coin that circulated in the present-day Netherlands. It was the common currency for low-value transactions, which is why many units have survived to this day.
A common characteristic of these pieces is their high level of wear. However, this particular example is in high preservation condition, despite having oxidation in the fields. All the details of the coin, including the shield, date, and legends, can be clearly seen.
The Brussels mint was represented by the head of an angel, which is clearly visible on the reverse of the coin.
