Wildlife of Greenland – Booklet with Eight Souvenir Notes
Three quarters of Greenland are covered by a permanent ice sheet, and no other land mass extends closer to the North Pole. To survive the Arctic climate and harsh environment, the native animals have developed some amazing characteristics. This booklet includes a unique series of eight souvenir notes, each dedicated to one of Greenland's fascinating species: the Atlantic puffin, the Arctic hare, the snowy owl, the Arctic fox, the muskox, the walrus, the narwhal and the polar bear. In addition to the animal motif, each front side features a gold foil patch with the coat of arms of Greenland, a standing polar bear. The back side of each note depicts a coast view, the tail fluke of a whale and the medieval inscription of the Kingittorsuaq Runestone. Along with the souvenir notes, the booklet contains detailed background information on Greenland and the animal species, as well as high-resolution images.
