The 1 and 2 euro coins feature the effigy of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The mintage of this coin set is limited to 8,000 copies.

The Monaco 2017 BU coin set is distinguished by a photographic illustration captured during the Monegasque National Day. The image represents the princely couple, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, holding their twin children, Gabriella and Jacques.

The Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) quality refers to coins struck with new tooling, guaranteeing a superior quality. These coins have a more pronounced shine than common circulation coins and have never been put into circulation.
