This beautiful 2 Oz Silver coin is the first issue of the "8th Wonder of the World" series and features a bird's eye view of the Church of St. George. The coin has selective coloring, Proof Quality, features Smartminting Technology and comes in a case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. The mintage is limited to 555 pieces worldwide. The reverse of the coin presents the Church of Saint George, one of the eleven, and most famous, rock-hewn monolithic churches of Lalibela, Ethiopia. It was constructed in the 12-13th century by Lalibela, King of Ethiopia after a vision of Saint George. Lalibela wanted to recreate Jerusalem. On the reverse a beautiful crucifix colored and the inscription: "CHURCH OF SAINT GEORGE, LALIBELA" – the name of the coin. The obverse features a pattern with dots added to realize an earth sphere optical illusion. On the obverse, two rows of monuments around the world and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "COOK ISLANDS" – the issuing country, "TEN DOLLARS" – the face value and "LABOR OMNIA VINCIT" – the latin motto.
