A huge and very high quality three-headed and dancing Ganesha, Northern India / Himalayan, c. late 18th. century.
The old figure is 77 cm. tall without it's simple wooden base and weighing upwards 20 kilos. Such large figure would have adorned a temple.
He is clad in loin cloth and adorned with multiple fire gilt jewelry, still present and with the original patina. He wears a crown or headdress also adorned with gilt bands and medallions. Vivid style and even tiny details of the triple head and invidual toes and nails etc are finely rendered. He is standing with the usual attributes in his 6 hands, incl. a mouse and small Elephants!
Condition: Good Very fine. Intact in all it's parts. There's remnants of a 20th. century green painting of the body parts, but now it's now largely removed and the surface retains a fine warm deep brown bronze patina.
