Holy Roman Empire, House of Habsburg, 6 Kreuzer 1677 ✿, mint Vienna, silver, Leopold I.

Obverse: LEOPOLDVS D G R I S A G H B REX (translated: Leopold, by the grace of God Emperor of the Romans, forever August, King of Germany, Hungary and Bohemia). Laureate, armored bust of Leopold I wearing the Golden Fleece to the right, value VI in frame below.

Reverse: ARCHID AVS DVX B CO TVR 1677 (translated: Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, Count of Tyrol, 1677). Crowned imperial double-headed eagle with the two-fold arms of Austria and ancient Burgundy on the breast; the crown divides the date at top. Mint master mark ✿ (rosette, for mint master Franz Faber).

Leopold I ruled the Holy Roman Empire from 1658 to 1705 and was one of the longest-reigning Habsburgs. His reign was defined by the Turkish Wars and the Ottoman siege of Vienna. The 6 Kreuzer with rosette mint mark was struck under mint master Franz Faber in Vienna and is one of the characteristic silver pieces of the late seventeenth century.

Dealing came much later, and even though it is how I make my living now, I still enjoy looking at every piece the way a collector does.

Everything you see here has passed through my own hands. I describe and photograph each piece myself. There is no team behind me. You always deal with me.

Every shipment goes out registered with track & trace, and I pack everything myself. If something goes wrong along the way, I cover the cost. That risk is mine, not yours.

I ship on two fixed days a week, Monday and Thursday. The track & trace is added to your order so you can follow your parcel online.

Practical

For payments within Europe I recommend an IBAN transfer (SEPA), which saves you the extra costs of third parties.
