County of Tyrol, House of Habsburg, ¼ Thaler 1725, mint Hall in Tyrol, silver, Charles VI.

Obverse: CAROL VI D G R I S A G HI HU B REX (translated: Charles VI, by the grace of God Emperor of the Romans, forever August, King of Germany, Spain, Hungary and Bohemia). Armored, laureate bust of Charles VI to the right, the head dividing the legend.

Reverse: ARCHIDUX AVST DUX BVRG COM TYROL 1725 (translated: Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, Count of Tyrol, 1725). Small shield with the Tyrolean eagle, surrounded by the chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece, set on the breast of a large crowned double eagle; denomination ¼ in cartouche below.

References: KM# 1618.1; MT# 829. Mintage: only 11,000 pieces.

Charles VI ruled from 1711 to 1740 as the last male Habsburg and is best known for the Pragmatic Sanction, which secured the succession of his daughter Maria Theresia. The Hall mint struck this ¼ Thaler with a mintage of only 11,000 one of the lowest for this type making it a sought-after rarity for collectors of Tyrolean coinage.

For payments within Europe I recommend an IBAN transfer (SEPA), which saves you the extra costs of third parties.
