EF-/VF+ condition, conserving almost complete details and bold reliefs. Besides the coin looks much better in the hand than in the photo.
This issue belongs to the earliest Lysimachos´ coinage, at the beginning of the period of his satrapy (so, before becoming king of Thrace). During this time, Lysimachos was constantly fighting against the Thracian tribes and likely needed coinage for army payments. The only source for him, at that time, would be his close friend Kassander, who controlled the mint at Amphipolis, where eventually these coins should be struck. This mint and dating conform well to the current scholarship regarding the minting of Philip II-type tetrobols (or fifth tetradrachms).
Quite scarce (only 4 specimens auctioned in the last 20 years).
