Grosse, weisse Keramik-Medaille 1961 für Verdienste um die Technische Hochschule, 1961 umbenannt in Technische Universität. Brb. v. Wilhelm Gotthelf Lohrmann, Mitbegründer d. Technischen Bildungsanstalt Dresden, heute Technische Universität. Brb. fast v. vorn/5 Zeilen Schrift im Schriftkreis, unten Schwertermarke Meissen. Gebauer -, vgl. 1961.3 (Bronzeguss), Slg.Finn, Höhn A.-60/ -, Scheuch 1469 n. 54,7mm. O.-Etui.
Hervorgegangen aus der 1828 gegründeten Technischen Bildungsanstalt, 1871 in Technische Hochschule umbenannt und seit 1961 Technische Universität, ist sie mit ca. 36.000 Studenten die größte TU in der Bundesrepublik. Lohrmann (*31. 1.1796 Dresden, +20. 2. 1840, Dresden) war Geodät mit Spezialisierung als Topograph in kursächsischen Diensten. Nebenbei erwarb er sich einen Ruf als Astronom, seine Mondkarte konnte er allerdings nicht vollenden. Sowohl ein Mondkrater wie auch das Observatorium der TU Dresden tragen seinen Namen.
