A recently discovered small tin "bean" (small and thick) type, never properly published. Only a few coins have been identified, these remain rare. This type is known mostly from a hoard from Musi River in south-eastern Sumatra, Indonesia. 

The Srivijaya Kingdom was a powerful maritime and commercial empire that flourished between the 7th and 13th centuries CE in Southeast Asia, centered on the island of Sumatra in present-day Indonesia. It controlled key maritime routes through the Strait of Malacca, making it a vital hub for international trade between China, India, and the Islamic world. Srivijaya was also a major center of Mahayana Buddhism, attracting monks and scholars from across Asia, including the Chinese pilgrim Yijing, who visited in the 7th century.

The kingdom’s strength lay in its naval power and ability to dominate regional trade networks by controlling choke points and collecting tribute from neighboring areas. It maintained close diplomatic and cultural ties with Tang and Song China as well as India. Over time, Srivijaya's influence waned due to internal fragmentation, the rise of regional rivals such as the Chola dynasty of South India (which raided its capital in 1025), and shifting trade routes. By the 13th century, Srivijaya had declined, leaving a lasting legacy in the cultural and religious history of maritime Southeast Asia.
