According to the literature this is a presentation piece minted by Engraver Korn from Mainz at the local Mint around 1852-1856 as an offer to Napoleon III. Those double taler coins were minted in very small amount and never seen circulation because City's Senate immediately banned its production. Extremely rare historic piece for German Coins as well as Napoleon lovers!!!
