Here you can see the very special edition of the 250 dollar gold coin from Sierra Leone. This was created as a piedfort (so-called thick strike), which means that the coin has approx. the diameter of a 1/2oz coin, but due to its thickness it has the weight of 1oz.

In the PCGS census it is the only edition ever graded and this version is also very rarely found on the collectors’ market.
