100 USD USA – 2015 – 100 Dollars – American Liberty – High Relief – 1 oz Gold – SP70 ANACS SP70

This 2015-W American Liberty High Relief gold coin is one of the United States Mint’s modern prestige issues. It is struck from one ounce of .9999 fine gold and has a face value of 100 dollars. The high relief design is particularly striking, giving the modern depiction of Liberty a significantly more three-dimensional and powerful appearance than in classic, flatter designs.

The obverse depicts Liberty standing with a torch and the American flag. This design combines classic iconography of liberty with a contemporary artistic interpretation. The reverse shows a flying bald eagle with an olive branch in its talons, accompanied by the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD and ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS.

The coin was minted at West Point and accordingly bears the mint mark W. Furthermore, this example is certified by ANACS with SP70, meaning it is in the highest possible numerical condition within this grading system. Of particular interest are the additional inscriptions “First Day of Issue” and “ANACS Certified #144 of 179,” which further distinguish this piece within this special ANACS certification series.

For collectors of modern US gold coins, the 2015 American Liberty High Relief is particularly attractive because it marks the beginning of the modern American Liberty High Relief gold series. Furthermore, it combines 24-karat fine gold, high-relief minting, a limited edition, and the highest certification grade into a highly desirable collector’s item.
