Background to the San Pedro:
The San Pedro was a Spanish merchant ship that sank off the coast of Bermuda in 1595. The salvage of the wreck in the 1950s by the famous diver Teddy Tucker revealed numerous treasures, including silver coins, gold bars, and an emerald-studded cross. These finds are considered some of the most significant discoveries in the history of underwater archaeology.
This gold coin combines historical significance, rare origin and the highest numismatic quality – an exclusive collector’s item from one of the most unusual minting contexts of modern times.
