Historical context:
This medal was struck in 1930 as part of a commemorative series honoring key figures in the House of Orange-Nassau for Queen Wilhelmina’s 50th birthday. Amalia of Solms (1602–1675), wife of Prince Frederik Hendrik, played a significant role in Dutch court and political life during the 17th century. Her personal arms and motto reflect her status and devout character. The medal was designed by J.J. van Goor.
